54” PCCP Sewer Force Main Emergency Repair

Description

The project consisted of the emergency installation of 54-inch prestressed concrete pipe for sewage force main that was removed for an unsuccessful swagelining project by others at Flagler Street just east and west of the Palmetto Expressway. The project was on an emergency basis with the Department furnishing 54-inch PCCP pipe lengths, bends and closures.

The work of this project included, immediate mobilization; continuous 24 hour work until the force main was returned to service; closing the gaps at three locations where pipe was removed for receiving and exit pits; taking over the work area from the existing Contractor; Ric-Man Construction Florida, Inc Florida furnished a crane to handle the 54-inch concrete pipe, closure and adapter; loading and transportation of Department furnished materials from Department storage yard at the SW Well Field; excavation dewatering the excavation; cleaning the 54-inch sewer main; removal of damaged pipe lengths as required; installation of 54-inch prestressed concrete pipe, closure and adapters; installation of closure; grouting the joints; constructing an access manhole above the blind flange on the tees furnished by the Department; furnishing and installing all materials for the access manhole assembly; taking over of the temporary dewatering pump rentals; taking over of the temporary sheet pile rentals; taking over the temporary barricade rentals; dewater groundwater; furnishing additional backfill; site restoration; traffic control; modifications to the maintenance of traffic plans; providing any additional barricades, message boards and other traffic control devices; roadway restoration to include removal of the existing traffic shift; restoring medians, curbs, gutters, loop detectors, sidewalks and other damaged items; and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work for a complete, fully functional and satisfactory project located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. All accomplished over a 15 day Performance Period.
